Children’s Chorus

Give your child the chance to shine!  Now, your child has the opportunity to be a part of something special – to grow in knowledge and appreciation of the arts, to meet new friends and to enjoy the reward of bringing joy and music to their community.   Your child is invited to become a part of the Chatham-Kent Children’s Chorus.

The chorus is the only community choir in Chatham-Kent offering instruction and opportunities to students ages 6+.  Students will learn and grow as musicians and as members of the arts community in Chatham-Kent.  Children of all ages will be exposed to music from around the world, meet and workshop with talented Canadian artists and have the opportunity to expand their horizons.

Involvement in a Children’s choir is a rewarding experience for a young singer.  The benefits go far beyond simply ‘learning music’.  For  information on the benefits of children singing in choirs, check out this review of a groundbreaking study by Chorus America.

Best of all, a choir is extremely affordable.  Whether you choose the CK Children’s Chorus as a compliment to private lessons or as your child’s primary exposure to the study of music, you won’t be disappointed.

Benefits of Music

  • Children who participate in music lessons like a choir do better in school.  Math skills are especially bolstered by the study of music.

  • Children experience increased self-esteem and self-worth.  Students are in a safe environment where they’re allowed to express themselves and be supported.

  • Singing in a choir can help to increase language skills, enunciation and confidence when speaking in front of a group.  A choir is also a perfect place for ESL students to develop English language skills.

  • Students develop lasting friendships, skills and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
